Hand laid palm leaf spines create linear patterns around the exterior of the diffuser, while the inner shade is Mylar laminated with handmade paper. The base and stem are powder-coated for a smooth finish. Outdoor Kai styles replace the palm and paper with polyethylene and fiber reinforced polymer, respectively.
